I bought one for $240 in the highly inflated SF Bay Area market and feel very good about it (mine came with the original 27" wheels, though I plan to swap them for a more modern 700c wheelset when they die). From the looks of it, the one in your area is from the year before mine (chrome chainstay, deore components). If it it fits take it for $250 or maybe even at full price. If it's ready to ride, $280 is cheaper than any new touring bike you may find.
