No one else mentioned it yet, so:
Your next bike upgrade will no doubt have built-in waterbottle cage mounts on the downtube and seat tube. In the meantime, your LBS (local bike shop) can set you up with very inexpensive add-on clamps that mount those bottle cages, (so you don't have to keep them in the rear pocket of the cycling jersey you haven't bought yet
