You can raise the stem on the TCR, and you can only cut the Defy's stem so much.

Disc brakes are heavier than rim brakes, and more expensive. They brake slightly better in the rain though.

Depends on what kind of race. I don't know if John Degenkolb would win Paris-Roubaix if he rode TCR/Propel.
