I prefer the 36t ratchet for my road bike. The 54 I use on my Diverge and MTB. Better engagement but also louder and higher frequency noise.
It is definitely high pitched and loud...which is what I was after. In my area, there is an annoying amount of
hipsters people on Bird scooters riding 3-4 abreast and hogging up a bike lane, going 10mph and talking about their favorite skinny jeans or third wave coffee shops, and completely unaware of anyone else who is using the lane. So when they're clogging up the lane, I want to freewheel and let those people know that there are riders around.
