They were my favorite group as a kid. One year my cool older sister was going to take me to see them for my birthday but then my parents found out and wouldn't let me go. So 30 years later I'm getting my redemption!
(Also I fall into that weird gap between gen-x and millenial but I had older sisters so I've always identified with gen-x even though college had become unaffordable by the time I went to school.)
My friend and I would listen to that first record over and over back in the day. I finally got around to seeing them in the late '90s. They played some "secret" show for which you could only gain admittance with a fat stack of Marlboro Miles. It only took a couple of weeks of tearing miles off of peoples Marlboro packs to get our tickets. The best part being that they booked it in a tiny punk club with approx 200 capacity.
