I have an older Edge 305 that I'm still using, but have been enamored by the mapping functions of the 800. So, I don't think the 500 is enough of incentive to jump from the old fugly gray screen of the 305. If I felt confident in the refurb I'd just pull the trigger now.
fair enough, for the record, i love my 800 (got it on the sale/rebate when the 810 came out)
