Thanks--yeah, at one point I had a sweet Ritchey quill stem mocked up but it was too long and I loved the matching color.

No issues whatsoever with the rings. The 48t outer is a Sugino ring; the 34t is an older Shimano from my bins, but it's not really ramped either. If I was to really analyze it, I'd say maybe it's a little more of a direct shove, but it's by no means really noticeable, and it's definitely not rough or inconsistent. Haven't missed a shift yet. What I'm noticing more than that is the fact that the crankset has 165mm arms; every other bike I have has 175mm cranks. It's not bad; it's just different.
