Come to think of it, do you want your bars to be like a steel girder, transmitting 100% of every hit? Shock absorption is a feature, not a bug...

Mind you, when I put these cheapo aero bars on my main bike, I had this Kalloy Uno stem on there, which is like a cheap copy of a 3T Arx, weighing about 120g, and the front end was heaps noodly. Popped a beefy Zipp stem on, weighing another 20g, and it was perfect; it's like the springiness of the bars doesn't go to waste when I stand on it.
