I personally think that Albatross bends are just as unnatural as a 'straight' bar and IMO the bend of the FSA Metropolis strikes the perfect balance. Have one on our flat-bar tandem. On one Mary bars have a similar bend but the Metropolis has a 31.8 center area. Try one, it might grow on you.

That's very similar to the bars I'm trying to replace (because they're making my hands hurt). I generally use moustache bars on most of my bikes, but this one (Douze cargo bike) has got a NuVinci hub, so it needs a longer grip area for the grip shifter. Albatross or porteur would seem to be the right thing.
