I prefer the way that Garmin Connect does it. I may switch out chainrings or the cassette for a certain ride and can add them to that particular ride without having to delete them from the bike.
Now I have to ask … I can find only an option for bike, shoes, pen "other" in Garmin. How can one add gear? (Other doesn't seem to worn because it can't track multiple items simultaneously).
