Actually,
any decent brand used bike: Specialized, Cannondale, Trek, Giant etc etc.
WAY more bang for the $$$. Buy a 2-5 year old bike -that was probably used very little- ride the snot out of it, and sell it for what you paid for it next year. You will also know much better what you really do want out of a bike after you put in a few thousand kms.
