Sorry, I don't know the story on the Trek decals, but I like them better than the typical ones of that era. I bought the bike from a collector and the pink color is not original. It was originally an ugly metallic "rust-red." VAST improvement in my opinion. I don't collect bikes--I ride them, and this one suits me perfectly. Incredibly responsive with great turn-in, wonderful sprinting and hill climbing, though a little jarring on rough road surfaces like chip-seal.
