Part III Victoria, BC ...Goodbye Vancouver!
Taking both
mikemowbz and my host's advice, I chose to take Vancouver public transit to the ferry terminal. On my map, it looked like a few hours ride, but soon learned there was no direct route accessible. A long detour East is needed.
Off into suburban Vancouver fully loaded in search of the right train station. My first experience riding on an unmanned subway train.

Upon reaching Bridgeport Terminal, I needed to catch a shuttle bus for the ferry terminal. The lines were queuing quite long with weekend travelers. I was sent to the front of the line so that I can load my bike, nice! But then was told the bus only accepts coins, no bills. I was $0.20 shy! No time to remove the bike or find a place to get change...then a kind tourist stepped in and helped make up the difference. He allowed this clueless biker to not miss the bus and the morning ferry. His name is Carlos.
"Obrigado, meu amigo!"
Carlos and his 4 traveling companions are from Brazil and studying in Vancouver for a month.
He's a developer for Microsoft Brazil, and has a masters in genetics.
