As an update, I received my case and have flown numerous times and have not been charged. I am asked almost every time what is in the bag. I tell them it is a convention display and it never goes beyond that. But the TSA does open the bag almost every time.
I've found it nice to have a bike while traveling but would like to find an easier option. I'm interested in the English folding frames.
