Today, 2/28, is the last day of "Meteorological Winter." What does that mean? Not much. It means that the calendar is about to flip to March, the beginning of "Meteorological Spring" defined by being March, April and May of each year.

If it doesn't feel like it, that's because the beginning of "Astronomical Spring" - the Spring Solstice on March 20 - is roughly three weeks away
