Did our every-Sunday group ride with the usual suspects. We were on our tandem. The other two tandems were much younger and some stronger than we. Oh well. There were also 7 singles to play with and a few were closer to our speed. We did 37 miles & 1900', We tried to ride a steady hard effort, a little harder on the hills, with no easing off. We go by HR, not having power on the tandem. I had 00:00:32 in Z1, 00:12:56 in Z2, 01:47:56 in Z3, 00:37:19 in Z4 and nothing in Z5. Yeah, if you do the math, we only averaged 14, but we busted butt, and that's the important part.

After the coffee stop, we rode with two of the singles, they dropping us on every hill, we dropping them on every descent and flat. i.e. we made them worth their butts off, too. The singles say that riding with us, the flats and descents are much more difficult than the hills. Anyway, a fine day for a ride, temperatures in the upper 40s, cloudy all day, but not a drop of rain. Afterwards, the group toasted another Perfect Ride™ in a nearby brewpub.
