As has already been said, you don't wear a mask to protect you. You wear it to protect others who might have serious complications from contracting Covid. On my ride today, I was glad to see > 75% of the riders wearing one and many of them were young

Now can you please tell me how you average 16mph? I just started riding and averaged 8mph on my last ride lmao! I can't tell if it's because I bought a cheap bike, or if I'm just grossly out of shape, or some combination of both haha
