Stopping posting will stop the replies (or removing one's subscriptions). But, it probably won't rid oneself of BikeForums Spammy Bowel messages.
(but, some of the methods above may help).
Many forums don't like removing accounts due to leaving orphaned messages.
I'm not sure what the e-mail verification is here, but one can direct all e-mail to a junkmail account that you don't regularly monitor.
