A good read about this a a book by Richard Leakey, an anthropologist just like his Mom and Dad. The book is entitled "The Sixth Extinction". The more immediate consequences are flooding, desertification and such. The longer term consequences are more conflicts and vast migrations which we already see in the numbers of Africans heading to EU countries and other similar migrations in other areas.
