pdlamb and all, I appreciate the information and am ingesting it all.
I've ordered the
Castelli Tempesta leg wamers which are waterproof below the knee. They are designed to work with
Tempesta 3/4 Pants which are seam sealed and made from Torrent and eVent fabrics. I can return the warmers with zero shipping charges after trying them on or I can buy the pants if I don't think the warmers are enough. The pants are uber expensive though so the jury is still out and I'm still looking.
The Rainlegs are interesting and the idea isn't too far from the Castelli Tempesta pants.
The Columbia recommendation is appreciated and the
Gore C3 cycling pants are similar. The high-vis bits are nice and will augment my Gore jacket. These are on my list if the Castelli gear doesn't work out.
I'll let you all know and appreciate any further thoughts more than you know.
