The solution: suspension.
At least a fork. I’m an old mountain biker and is very familiar with riding rigid. It sucks. Once I put a suspension fork on my mountain bike, I never looked back. A suspension fork allows the front wheel to float and follow the terrrain. A rigid fork will just plow into whatever ruts are there and trap the wheel. Even fat tires won’t float and follow terrain like a suspension fork will.
