Ya know, now that you mention it, I do think it was missing looking at the picture. I thought maybe it was just out of view but after a second look, I think you are right. Also I do think the trash can at Newman's Point (6 miles up) was removed as well. I don't remember seeing it though thinking back, that one may have been removed some time ago. Hence all the trash lining the turnout. Not that anybody there used the trash can anyway.
Hmm, I did think the pic looked somewhat different, cleaner looking. Good eye!
Now that you brought it up, I believe there are trees missing as well. Happy about that, there were some killer bees up in them trees.
