Aero testing yesterday that was a blast and learned a lot as usual from Jim Manton of ERO. The most interesting result was a test we did for fun which was have my wife ride wired up in her new base position and have me ride behind her. This was the first time someone did this at ERO and Jim was like a kid in a candy store.
So for you brainiacs...was her CdA materially lower, higher or stayed the same? I was within 6 inches or less of her rear wheel with my front wheel at all times and we were riding at 25 mph.
I've always heard there's a bit of a "push" from the rider behind due to the wake/trail/whatever it's called being extended past the second rider and that it would lower CdA.
Curious to know if that's the case.
