I've lived in Plano since 1985 and I've never experienced this. I know Plano has the reputation of being a go-go town where everybody is on the move, but where is it that major roads with five minutes of continuous traffic are only a block apart?
I can think of a couple of seven mile long sections and a couple more three+ mile long sections of Plano pedestrian & cycle segregated pathway with no at-grade street crossings at all. In addition to that they've put in rider-actuated signal lights or underpasses where some sections of trail cross major streets, and there are two segregated, barrier protected crossings of the Central Expressway/Hwy 75 freeway.
