I don't have any ideas of my own. I started using Di2 with 6870 and don't know about earlier versions. Sorry.
The only thing for sure is that the E-Tube chart says that 10 speed 6770 front derailleur is not supported with 11 speed 6870 or 9070 rear derailleurs. I do not know if that means it will not work or just that Shimano does not support it for performance reasons.
Keep asking. Someone somewhere knows.
