The gauge is near the bottom. This doesn't make it hard for me to read, despite my eyes being 51 years old. There's a dial around the gauge bezel used to mark my preferred pressure to make it even easier to see. I use it two to three times a week on each of my two bikes and a couple of times a month on my kids' lower-pressure tire bikes.

There may be a better pump out there. I'm sure there is. But this one has been good enough that I can't think of a good reason to try something else.
Glad to hear it! The salesman at REI said he has 7 bikes and his lasts about 5 years. He said they have parts to rebuild it so there’s no sense in going for something better.
