The front bags are a 1000D Cordura nylon exterior with a 70D nylon taffeta floating liner, both polyurethane coated. Lots of black nylon webbing straps and reflective shock cord lacing. They weigh 10oz per side, compared to ~22oz per side for Ortlieb front rollers, not that weight matters much on tour. While they aren't "waterproof" like Ortliebs, in that they can't be submerged, they are highly water resistant. Even a fairly hard soaking won't get anything wet, though I carry nylon covers for them just in case.
