Just finished The North Water by Ian McGuire. Basically a novel about a 1800's whaling ship and crew. Not sure what I thought of it. Very descriptive of the time and place, but sometimes took the suspense out of the story by providing the answer to a mystery a few pages later.

I've started American Ulysses: A Life of Ulysses S. Grant by Ronald C. White. Like it so far.
