@TimothyH That 146 mile Alpine loop with 21,000' of total ascent and at an altitude of 13,000' (multiple times) sounds more "really stupid" than Mt Evans which is 6,300' of sustained ascent over ~24 miles and a max. altitude of 14,200' (starting from Idaho Springs I assume). Unless of course you don't like 6,000' of sustained climbing, but who would admit to that here? I fully enjoyed Mt Evans, including the lightheadedness above 12,000', and I had acclimated at 5,280' for 12 months before attempting it.
