I search for the Galloping Goose Bike Trail that will bring me into Victoria. But I found out from Swartz Bay to Saanich, it's the Lochside Regional Trail that's the northern portion. I soon reached Sidney, BC and the trail hugged the shore for some miles.

The cyclists who started up in Vancouver...we kept seeing each other for the rest of the ride at photo opts and watering holes.

The trail cuts through farm land on rural gravel roads, very wide and flat, and a pleasant grinding portion. A pumpkin patch...ready for Halloween.

"Old Roy" in Saanich, tending to my bike as I go off to snap a few. Rubbing his shoulder for good luck is a tradition...where's my Mother's Mag Polish?

After crossing the wooden Selkirk Trestle, the Galloping Goose Trail ran into a major road construction project and I got detoured onto local streets and was no longer sure where the detour dropped me back. But a resident pointed out Downtown Victoria was just ahead over the Johnston Bridge. I had arrived.
