Thanks for the compliment calamarichris! I will be keeping it as stock as possible, that's how I like it and your suggestion of a replacement gum hoods is on the list. I have to put back on it the original pump and replace the tires. Will be doing this next few weeks. I was always more of a Trek guy but I'm really enjoying the high end Schwinn and like I said on another post, the 25" Schwinn frame size (63 cm) just fits me very well with a fist full of space on the seat tube. Treks are either 24"(which is OK but shows too much seat post IMO) and 25.5" seems to be a tad too big. I thought those small dimension variations would make no difference, but it does (or maybe I'm too picky). Anyway, I'm selling my Trek 600 24" and starting to look for a 25 Schwinn Voyageur as a light touring bike / commuting as an add on to my Peloton. As a side note, if a '86 Peloton shows up around here, I'll be all over it.
