I agree that other fabrics are better for some activities, but somehow cotton has become a hazardous material. How did we all survive before “performance gear” arrived. When I was young, I rode many miles in cotton shorts, shirts and yes, cotton briefs.
Thousands of cyclists have died form wearing cotton before the so-called technical fabrics were invented ….I've worn cotton many times, it does get uncomfortable when wet and takes long time to dry but I am still alive....I do prefer technical fabrics but I am not against wearing cotton sometimes....Most cyclist don't ride in remote areas and extreme conditions long enough to risk hypothermia form wearing wrong choice of clothing. I am more concerned about distracted drivers then dying form hypothermia during my commute to/from work.
