Oh, no, nothing like that. They're far too paranoid about lawsuits to do that; they wouldn't even do that to a former (different) boss who was fired for cause. The new rumor would mean they allow those of us working remotely to just continue, remotely, and ignore the situation as they have been for the past years and just let natural attrition take care of it, at least for a while. So that would mean I'm in the clear, until the next time I'm not, with no idea of how to plan life.
