How have you figured out your daily caloric burn accurately enough to make calorie counting effective? Do you just eat at a big enough estimated deficit to make being a few hundred calories off not a huge deal?

As far as calories out, there are plenty of activity trackers and smartwatches that are up to the task.
The problem is that the people that should be paying attention to both sides of the equation often think that one or the other is enough.
