Until a few years ago I was active in winter sports, hiking, camping, snow shoeing and skiing. The best part was becoming friends with cold and snow where a cold wind on your face, (within reason) is invigorating and snow was something to go out and play in. I no longer have the lung power for those activities. Yesterday I watched a number of videos of back country skiing and was reminded of how much I enjoyed them. One favorite video is of a very popular ski mountaineering race from Zermatt to Verbier with hundreds of participants.
