Well if you're a do-it-yourselfer you can make your own out of cardboard. You really don't need to spend a lot of money for extension tubes. Those that cost more however, do give you some convenience over the basic manual tubes, such as maintain the camera auto controls.

That's the reason I purchased the Kenko DG Auto Extension tube set for Canon. They're highly rated, and I can agree they're well built. They fit perfectly and operate with full auto if you should want to go that route.
