My wife is pretty bad at that. If I'm about to head somewhere (store, etc) I'll get a sharp "what are you doing?" with an emphasis on the "doing". It comes across as "what the HELL do you think you're doing?!" and then she gets confused when I get defensive or cautious with my reply.
