Again, Jim was/is a master of this, he worked with Spence Wolf who made his own long cages for his alpine gearing on many custom frames Jim built for his customers.

merziac -I read your post and thought it was a hell of a coincidence. When I was buying my SOMA long cage at my LBS on Thursday (Cupertino Bike Shop, Spence's old shop) I was admiring an old Spence NR modification on one of the vintage bikes for sale in the shop. I forget that Spence was widely known, I just know of him for his history at the Bike Shop I go to.
