Funny how you never see MTB'ers talk about packing heat or being assaulted by animals or people in the actual woods but it sure is a problem for gravel riders all of a sudden. Since most gravel riders are ex-roadies it makes all the sense since they all love the drama.
I've seen several bears while riding on gravel roads. Never saw one MTBing. I've seen 2 or 3 in an area I've hiked in for years and never seen one from the trail there.
Not that you need a gun for Cascade bears.
