Are you commuting? I like the model called "The Stack" from Priority Bicycles because it collapses nicely into a flatter shape that fits into a backpack and that doesn't roll around and wobble all over whatever table or desk that I park it on.
Hold out for the looks that you want. You aren't being petty. There are so many good helmets on today's market that there's no sense in buying one that you don't like the look of.
