I have ridden bikes with the 'bullhorn' style and they're super comfortable. They just look a little funny on road bikes as opposed to mountain bikes. I buy the 'shorties' and find them quite adequate. 10-15 miles? Heck, my hands need a change 10-15 minutes into a ride. This is the brand I bought: It has these grooves at the ends for your thumb or finger, very comfortable. Slice off a little bit of the grip to accommodate.
