I've had them on my Puch for 10 years, and the mounting and fenders themselves work and look as good as new.
Oh, I bet and I'm sure they'll last a lifetime (or close enough to it), but still... If it's high quality and something that I need or really want, I'll usually come around after the initial sticker shock.
