people have drilled out the PoP rivets and narrowed down the newer bag frames
and modified them to use an Ortlieb Back roller bag as a waterproof touring bag..

You say no US sources, but also where I live I can not get them locally and trying to locate a dealer and then travel there would be expensive. I buy them online from abroad, mainly UK.

A B carryer block could be altered to fit most bags yes. But that would add the price of the block to the price of each bag plus the bag could only be used on a bike with a B carrier block. If you turn the B frame into a adapter (or buy a adaptor if you can) you can use that bag on bikes with a clickfix adaptor installed OR bikes (not only B`s as we have seen on several postings) w a B lugage block fitted.
