I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 5 for the last 3 years that I've been happy with (1645g). I've also heard a lot of good about Nashbar's Vuelta Corsa Lite (1570g); never ridden them but from a price to weight comparison, I've heard they're hard to beat. Both of these should come in at or under a $300 price point.
