I Ride a Bike That's Older Than I Am

I've just finished my 1949 Raleigh Clubman "patina preservation" project. The bike rides beautifully with a modern Sturmey Archer 3-speed drivetrain and Tektro brakes.

I installed all black hardware to draw the eye to that incredible frameset. All I did was give it a good clean, and sprayed clear enamel over the original finish.

The old 531 frame still rolls smooth as buttah, and that geometry yields a comfy yet responsive ride. This is one of my favorites.
