No, it's not that bad - I've ridden in worse in Manhattan. First, the wide angle camera makes spaces look tighter - he didn't get squeezed that badly. Second, with heavy traffic, cars are more predictable because there's less room to move - you really only need to be cognizant of when a gap opens up and who can/will move in to said gap. It's actually less stressful than free-flowing traffic.
You just gotta always make sure they can see you, don’t linger in the blind spots. In heavy traffic you can actually make better time than them.
