What are you trying to achieve by mixing Tiagra with XT parts? Road shifters have a different pull ratio than MTB derailleurs. Like wheelsmcgee suggested, Wolf Tooth Tanpan will adjust for the difference.
If you want to make a 1x setup, Tiagra derailleurs also come in medium cages if you want a use a wide range cassette.
