After toying around with various real estate options we decided to pull up stakes and move full time to our house at the base of Whiteface. Wife is going to get an apartment with our kid that she'll stay in a couple of days a week when she needs to be down in her office. It'll be a slow burn until we get up there next year, but we started triaging belongings. It'll be interesting to re-grab a hold of my identity as a new yorker.
Definitely envious that you get to move out into the woods and away from the city. We went to a smaller home and had to triage many of our belongings; after 40 you just accumulate so much unnecessary items.
