I bought a pair of very cheap Raleigh branded tyres from SJS a few weeks back for my Motobecane - not working at the moment so I'm reluctant to part with cash. They were £6.99 each; I thought if they only last six months they'll do. 300 miles on now, not a single puncture or tear, very little if any wear visible, and they look "right" on the bike. For the money I'm very pleased.
EDIT - just checked and they're showing out of stock now, although SJS do have gumwall Schwalbe and Pasela 27 inch tyres in stock; they do ship to the USA: -
