I know steel ripples like that, but does aluminum?

I'd mark the edges of it and monitor closely. If it is a crack, that's not the best place to ignore one. I continued riding my old mountain bike with a cracked seat tube, but I knew that even if it gave way the result wouldn't be catastrophic. Head tube joints are a different story.
